Mitsubishi's 2014 Outlander and Outlander Sport have earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick award. Such accolade is the highest achievement in safety; recognized by vehicle research and crash testing. The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport was the only Top Safety Pick in the Small SUV category, assuring drivers the highest quality of safety offered in America. Just 39 vehicles were recognized as a Top Safety Pick due to a more rigorous testing criteria. Last year, 130 vehicles received the honor.
To be chosen for the award, a vehicle must show exemplary performance in crash testing and must come equipped with a system that can prevent front-to-rear crashes. In addition to being one of the safest cars in America, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander is one of the lowest priced. It has a starting MSRP of $22,995.
