No Firework Extravaganza at Jones Beach This Year!

For the second consecutive year, the 4^th of July Fireworks show at Jones Beach is cancelled. Reason being is that there is an insufficient amount of state police.

Officials have reported that the show is in danger of ever going on again if the state does not train more stake park officials. 

Currently, there are only 56 state police on Long Island, which isn’t enough to ensure that everyone is safe at the event. Jones Beach plans to simulcast a musical array of patriotic songs in place of their fireworks extravaganza.
