Mitsubishi i-MiEV is the 100,000th Electric Vehicle Sold in the US

Electric cars are still a fairly new product on the market.  Recently the electric car industry reached an important milestone, with sales finally reaching 100,000 and still rising.  Gas prices are still very high and people are looking to other solutions, like these electric cars.  Many are trying to raise awareness about the benefits of these cars.  Plug In America, the national plug-in electric vehicle advocacy group, recently held a contest to award a ClipperCreek Level 2 electric charging station to the approximate 100,000th plug in hybrid or electric vehicle owner.  The winner Rich Salmon purchased his Mitsubishi I-MiEV on May 16th.  The I-MiEV is EPA-rated at 126 MPGe city, 99 MPGe highway and has an EPA-estimated "real world" driving range of 62 miles.  Electric vehicle are growing quickly in popularity, 100,000 cars sold over the last two years is a remarkable number that doesn't seem to be slowing at all.
