eNow Inc. Announces Partnership Wth Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America: Solar Powered Battery Charging System

eNow Inc., or Warwick, RI, has announced a new strategic partnership with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MTFA) dedicated to expand the availability of solar technology to fleet owners and owner operators.
File:Mitsubishi Fuso Canter.JPGAs part of this new agreement, MTFA will now offer eNow’s basic solar powered battery charging system as an available vehicle option on the new class 3-5 FUSO Canter FE/FG series trucks, to their network of more than 200 dealers in US and Canada.  The CEO of eNow, Jeff Flarth, says that this new partnership not only expands the availability of eNow’s solar-powered technology to the transportation industry, but also makes great economic sense and helps reduce targeted emissions.  MFTA’s President and CEO, Todd Bloom, said that they have a long history of providing their customers with environmentally sound vehicles.  This new partnership is just another step in their effort to offer vehicles with low cost of ownership, while maintaining as small an environmental footprint as possible.  These new solar-based auxiliary power systems are designed specifically for medium and heavy- duty trucks, buses and military vehicles focusing on transportation.

The system generates power by storing energy from the solar system in an on-board battery system, and delivers it to various functions when needed.  The system can be used to keep main engine batteries charged while reducing the load on the alternator, or to power auxiliary systems such as lift gates, lighting or refrigeration.  These solar charging systems will range from 30 watts, used for keeping batteries charged, to 6,400 watts, used for refrigeration.
